Our health to a large extent depends on what we eat and drink. Unfortunately, tap water in many Polish houses is not of the best quality. Therefore, it is necessary to use treatment filters. How can you choose the best one?
The best way is to perform water tests, which make it possible to detect precisely what elements should be removed. However, when we cannot afford such tests, we should choose a filter that will work well in average conditions.
Certainly, the better the filter is the more it costs, and the differences concern efficiency and the way the filter works. The simplest filters are mounted on the tap; they are provided with ceramic cartridges and cartridges containing activated carbon. Their efficiency is low and the cartridges need to be frequently changed; they allow us to use non-filtrated water. Therefore, the most popular groups of filters are those consisting of two or three elements with exchangeable or reusable cartridges (they eliminate mechanical pollution, iron and chlorine compounds). They are fixed in the cupboard under the sink, and the tap is mounted as a separate part. They have a larger capacity and a much longer operating time than filters mounted on the tap.
The best option is a set of filters, in which the last filter uses the process of reverse osmosis. Such a method results in the removal of mineral elements from water, but this deficiency may be easily supplemented. This disadvantage is absent in the system of ultrafiltration, which is new on the market.
